Portugal's diplomatic relations with China are good, and bilateral relations between the governments of Lisbon and Beijing can be considered positive. The long phase of successful bilateral talks regarding the transfer of Macao's sovereignty to China, where it became a Special Administrative Region, began in December 1999.
Resumo
As relações diplomáticas de Portugal com a China são boas, podendo considerar-se como positivo o relaciona- mento bilateral entre os governos de Lisboa e Pequim. Para a consolidação deste relacionamento muito contribuiu a prolongada fase de conversações bilaterais, bem sucedidas, acerca de Macau e da transferência da soberania deste território para a China, onde passou a constituir uma Região Administrativa Especial, a partir de Dezembro de 1999.
